about us
Since its inception, Earn A Bike has provided children and adults with the opportunity to enjoy the many benefits of cycling. We target students in underserved areas of San Antonio, where disparities often keep youth less physically active. Our curriculum educates participants on the importance of healthy living and using their bicycle as a tool for exercise, all while building confidence and community.
EARLY HISTORY
On June 14, 2014, the first of its kind bike shop opened up on the Westside of San Antonio. It was a safe place to build and repair bikes, a shared space focused on community and cycling.
Earn-A-Bike Co-op worked to bring cyclists of all ages and levels together and to encourage more people to ride bicycles and other forms of sustainable transportation.
As we grew, Earn-A-Bike developed a semester-long afterschool program and took the EAB mission to schools across the Greater San Antonio area.
Focused on education, healthy living, and environmental sustainability, EAB is now in 11 elementary schools and 2 YMCA of Greater San Antonio locations.
